Konosuke Takeshita has a new nickname and Don Callis has a new target.
Konosuke Takeshita has become a bona fide star in AEW following two massive wins over Kenny Omega in recent weeks. Takeshita scored the pinfall on Omega during the trios match at All In which saw the Japanese star team with Juice Robinson and Jay White while Omega had familiar partners in Hangman Adam Page and Kota Ibushi.
At All Out just one week later, Takeshita continued to do Don Callis’ bidding as he took on Omega in a one-on-one bout. To the surprise of many, Takeshita picked up another win over the AEW World Champion further compounding his recent misery at the hands of Don Callis.
Don Callis wants to break the heart of Kenny Omega
On Dynamite in Cincinnati, Don Callis vowed to reveal the next target for his family after apparently leaving Kenny Omega in the past. Callis first introduced a new nickname for Takeshita, referring to him as The Alpha Konosuke Takeshita before revealing that his next target is Omega’s long-time tag team partner, Kota Ibushi.

Callis stabbed the screwdriver he has used ever since turning on Omega to stab a painting featuring Ibushi in the head, something which caught the Golden Star’s attention as he responded to that on social media (post translated to English):
“I don’t know if it’s the head or the face like in that picture, but are you ready to stab it in the same way? picture? Don’t even try it in the photo. Make it real, hehe. I’m sure something will come back”
There has not been any confirmation of a match between Takeshita and Ibushi so far but they could face off at WrestleDream on October 1st.
