“Hangman” Adam Page Match Announced For AEW WrestleDream

Adam Page makes his entrance on AEW Dynamite 2022

A big singles match for “Hangman” Adam Page has been announced for the AEW WrestleDream PPV on October 1st.

On last week’s September 6th episode of AEW Dynamite, former AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page was in the ring about to do a promo when he was interrupted by Swerve Strickland of the Mogul Embassy group.

They exchanged words with Swerve saying he was coming for Page’s spot in the company while Hangman wasn’t afraid of fighting him any time he wanted.

At AEW Dynamite in Cincinnati, Hangman had a match with one of Swerve’s allies, Brian Cage. It was a very physical match between Page and Cage with Hangman ultimately getting the win by hitting the Deadeye slam for the clean victory.

After the match was over, Hangman addressed Swerve, who was standing in the aisle watching from a distance.

“Hangman” Adam Page will face Swerve Strickland at WrestleDream in Seattle

Adam Page spoke to Swerve: “What passion, what drive, just oozing out of your body as you brood on top of the ramp as you watched me kick Cage’s ass. Last week you said you wanted my spot, but you sent Cage out. Last week I thought you had some balls but tonight I’m pretty sure you’re just keeping them stowed away in Prince Nana’s Burger King crown.”

Swerve Strickland replied with this:

“What up, turd? Them sound like fighting words to me, Hangman. You think this’ll be solved tonight? We do this when I say, where I say. And it just so happens I chose the great state that birthed Swerve Strickland. October 1st, in the City of Seatle, WrestleDream. Me and you, Hangman. But I’m going to make sure you don’t get comfortable by the time you get there, isn’t that right Brian Cage?”

That led to Brian Cage attacking Hangman from behind. The Young Bucks went into the ring and hit a double superkick on Cage. Prince Nana was dancing, then he turned around and The Young Bucks hit a double superkick on Nana too. The Bucks celebrated with Hangman to end the segment.

It’s a big singles match for both wrestlers. Hangman Adam Page recently re-signed with AEW along with the rest of The Elite so perhaps there could be a big push for him to go after the AEW World Title that he held in 2021-22. As for Swerve, he also wants to prove he can be a top guy in AEW as well.

At this point, AEW has only announced two matches for WrestleDream. In addition to Hangman-Swerve, there’s also going to be Bryan Danielson facing Zack Sabre Jr. in what AEW is billing as a dream match.
