Dominik Mysterio Signs New Deal With WWE

Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio has had a breakout year in WWE and a new deal means he’ll stick around for many more years.

It has been reported by PWInsider’s Mike Johnson that former WWE NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio has signed a new deal to remain in the company.

The report noted that Mysterio’s signing took place about a month ago. One source believes that it is a five-year contract for the 26-year-old son of WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio.

Dominik Mysterio made his WWE in-ring debut at SummerSlam 2020 against Seth Rollins with no fans in attendance since it was the ThunderDome Era of WWE due to the COVID-19 virus shutting down the company’s ability to perform in front of fans.

Since then, Dominik has gone on to become a WWE Tag Team Champion with his father Rey Mysterio. In September 2022, which is shortly after Triple H took over the WWE Creative team, Dominik turned heel on Rey and “Uncle” Edge so that he could join The Judgment Day.

At WrestleMania 39, Dominik Mysterio wrestled his father Rey Mysterio in one of the most highly anticipated matches on the show. Rey got the win while Dominik proved that he belonged on the big stage and has impressed a lot of people since then.

During his run in The Judgment Day with Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, WWE Tag Team Champions Finn Balor & Damian Priest and JD McDonagh, Dominik Mysterio has been booed as loudly as anybody in all of WWE. Dominik is linked to Ripley as a love interest even though they are both engaged to other people in their lives away from WWE.

Two WWE Hall Of Famers Think Dominik Mysterio Is An MVP In The Company

During this breakout year for Dominik, he has appeared regularly on the Raw brand while also being in NXT as a two-time former NXT North American Champion and also numerous Smackdown appearances as well.

Recently, NXT’s boss two-time WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels called Dominik an MVP (Most Valuable Player or Performer) in all of WWE.

“Dom has, to me, Dominik Mysterio, MVP of the WWE this year. Every time he comes here, I look at him as the hardest-working man in the show business. He has just been an ironman for us. He has done just everything we have asked of him. He’s done it professionally, he’s done it admirably, done it to the best of his ability.”

Booker T, who is NXT’s main color analyst and also a two-time WWE Hall of Famer, also praised Dominik as an MVP in the company.

“I truly believe that you can put five guys in WWE [in for the running of] MVP of the year, and Dom would be one of those names.”

“At the end of that poll, Dominik would be the MVP of 2023, bar none. I really believe that this kid changed the whole name of the game and showed what it really means to be a performer.”

Up next for Dominik is an appearance on the December 18th edition of Raw and he’s also scheduled to face CM Punk at upcoming WWE live events to end 2023.
