Dominik Mysterio Is WWE MVP Of 2023 Says WWE Executive

One of the biggest names in WWE believes that “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio just might be the MVP of WWE in 2023.

It’s been a breakout year for Dominik Mysterio in WWE. Throughout all of 2023, Dominik has been a prominent member of Raw’s The Judgment Day group with Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley (aka “Mami”), WWE Tag Team Champions Finn Balor & Damian Priest (also Mr. Money in the Bank) and the group’s newest member JD McDonagh.

Dominik Mysterio is also the current and two-time NXT North American Champion even though he’s not a regular wrestler on the NXT roster. In fact, Dominik is known for appearing on all of WWE’s brands at different times.

At WWE Survivor Series on November 25th, Dominik Mysterio was on the losing team in the WarGames main event against a Cody Rhodes-led team with Randy Orton. One night later on Raw, Dominik lost a singles match to Orton. The night after that, Dominik was on NXT to provide color commentary for the main event.

Shawn Michaels is a two-time WWE Hall of Famer who runs the NXT brand as a WWE executive with the job title of Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative. While appearing on Cheap Heat with Peter Rosenberg, Michaels was asked if he recalls seeing Dominik as a child while adding that “Dirty” Dom is WWE’s MVP of 2023.

“Well, of course, I can remember the first time and just so early on, thinking to myself like, ‘Rey, he’s already taller than you are [laughs], such a young age.”

“But Dom has, to me, Dominik Mysterio, MVP of the WWE this year. Every time he comes here, I look at him as the hardest-working man in the show business. He has just been an ironman for us. He has done just everything we have asked of him. He’s done it professionally, he’s done it admirably, done it to the best of his ability.”

That’s a lot of praise from a man that many people consider one of the greatest WWE superstars of all time.

Who Will Dominik Mysterio Face At NXT Deadline?

The final WWE Premium Live Event of 2023 will be NXT Deadline on Saturday, December 9th.

In the main event of NXT on November 28th, Dominik Mysterio was on commentary for the four-way main event match. The stipulation was that Wes Lee had to win the match against three former NXT North American Champions (Johnny Gargano, Cameron Grimes & Bronson Reed) to get a title match against Dominik. Wes found a way to get the win because Ivar took out Reed during the match and Wes hit his Cardiac Kick on Grimes for the win.

That match result means that Dominik Mysterio will defend the NXT North American Championship against Wes Lee at Deadline.

* NXT Championship: Ilja Dragunov (c) vs. Baron Corbin

* Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge: Trick Williams vs. Dijak vs. Josh Briggs vs. Bron Breakker and one more wrestler.

* NXT North American Championship: Dominik Mysterio (c) vs. Wes Lee

* Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge: Tiffany Stratton vs. Lash Legend vs. Blair Davenport vs. Kelani Jordan and one more wrestler.

There will likely be more matches added to the show before Deadline takes place.
