Dominik Mysterio Announced For Huge Title Match Amid WWE Hiatus
Dominik Mysterio has been sidelined from action due to an injury.
Dom suffered a shoulder injury during a match at AAA Guerra de Titanes, where he teamed with El Grande Americano against his father, Rey Mysterio, and Rey Fénix. He was rumored to make his return at the Royal Rumble. However, that did not happen.
The good news is that he is scheduled to return to the ring very soon.
On the January 31 episode of AAA on FOX, El Hijo del Vikingo defeated El Grande Americano to become the #1 contender for the AAA Mega Championship, which is currently in Dominik Mysterio’s possession. He defeated Vikingo on September 12, 2025, at Worlds Collide: Las Vegas to win the title.
Following Vikingo’s victory, Dominik appeared via video to announce that he will face the new #1 contender at the AAA Rey de Reyes event on March 14, 2026, at Auditorio GNP Seguros in Puebla, Mexico.
While Mysterio has confirmed his in-ring return for March, it is still possible that he could return even earlier in WWE.
