Dominik Mysterio Shown With AEW Title In Embarrassing Botch
Has WWE star Dominik Mysterio really been crowned AEW World Champion?
Dominik Mysterio is currently the WWE Intercontinental Champion and the AAA Mega Champion, but fans watching AAA’s premiere episode on Fox in Latin America would be forgiven for thinking that Mysterio had jumped ship and claimed the AEW Men’s World Championship as well.
During that show, a video aired of Mysterio where he discussed his success in AAA and cut promos on the likes of Bad Bunny and Canelo Alvarez. The dangers of AI were then seen as AI-generated animation during the video showed Mysterio clearly wearing a title belt with AEW’s logo on it.

Dominik Mysterio Still Out Injured
Mysterio suffered a shoulder injury at AAA Guerra de Titanes in December 2025, where he and El Grande Americano lost a tag team bout to Rey Mysterio and Rey Fenix. WWE noted the injury, stating that Mysterio will be out of action indefinitely. However, he has not needed surgery on the injury and is expected to be out of action for a few weeks, which is why he still holds his titles.
El Hiji del Vikingo has become the number one contender for Mysterio’s AAA Mega Championship after he defeated El Grande Americano thanks to some giant help from WWE star Omos.
