More Details On “Road Dogg” Brian James Leaving WWE Creative Team
The legendary Road Dogg has left WWE’s creative team.
As a WWE superstar, Brian James was known as one of the talented wrestling sons of the legendary “Bullet” Bob Armstrong.
Like his father, James is also a WWE Hall of Famer as the Road Dogg, who was inducted in 2019 as part of the legendary D-Generation X stable with Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Billy Gunn, X-Pac and the late, great Chyna.
For more than a decade behind the scenes, Road Dogg worked as a member of WWE’s creative team. Earlier today, it was reported that James left the WWE creative team after serving as a co-lead writer on the SmackDown brand.
Road Dogg Quit WWE Rather Than The Company Letting Him Go
Since the initial report was released, PWInsider has provided additional details, revealing that not only did Road Dogg quit the WWE creative team, but he also did so in person. The report added that James “openly expressed his unhappiness and tendered his resignation from the creative team.”
While there may be reports that WWE decided to let James go, PWInsider reports that James was not released and nothing that happened today was due to WWE removing him. They also made it clear that James chose to leave the job voluntarily.
It was mentioned that there are WWE World Meet & Greet sessions involving James during WrestleMania week in Las Vegas, which actually took place today. When PWInsider asked about this, it was noted that James has a separate WWE Legends deal, so he might still attend those advertised events appearances.
Regarding the future, PWInsider’s Mike Johnson also believes that James will likely appear at conventions and make appearances with former tag team partner Billy Gunn, who works for AEW, to reunite the New Age Outlaws when they meet the fans.
Paul “Triple H” Levesque runs the WWE creative team as the Chief Content Officer and has been a close friend of “Road Dogg” Brian James for decades, but at least as of today, James is no longer on the creative team.
