Truth Behind Road Dogg’s Sudden WWE Departure Revealed
The WWE Universe stood shocked today at the sudden departure of SmackDown head writer and former WWE star, Road Dogg.
Brian “Road Dogg” James, who was famously part of Degeneration X as Road Dogg Jesse James in the Attitude Era, has departed the company.
Road Dogg was the co-lead writer for the SmackDown brand and had a role in the product’s weekly presentation.
James had been part of WWE’s creative team since returning to the company in 2014 in a creative role.
New Reports Emerge About Road Dogg’s Sudden Departure From WWE
Some reports from earlier suggested that James had quit amid WWE’s adjustments to the creative structure.
But according to a new report by PWInsider, Road Dogg has left on his own terms.
The word making the rounds is that he made the decision to leave his position on the company’s creative team, where he had been working on the SmackDown brand.
With WWE’s creative team receiving a lot of criticism lately for constant changes in storylines and booking matches, due in part to injuries sustained by top stars, there have been changes happening internally within the writing team.
Alexandra Williams announced that she’d been promoted to Vice President and lead writer for Monday Night Raw after being promoted from her role as senior writer and producer.
I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Vice President/Lead Writer at WWE!
As VP and Lead Writer for WWE’s flagship live program, I oversee all creative development for Monday Night RAW — one of cable television’s longest-running and highest-rated weekly shows.
WWE has yet to address James’ exit publicly, but as per new reports, it looks like his exit from the Stamford-based promotion was voluntary.
