Details Revealed Regarding AEW House Burning On Dynamite

Hangman Adam Page AEW House Fire

There are some interesting behind-the-scenes details about AEW’s explosive ending on Dynamite.

The main event of AEW Dynamite in Milwaukee was supposed to be a contract signing between “Hangman” Adam Page and Swerve Strickland, who will have a Steel Cage Match at the All Out PPV on September 7th.

Earlier in the day, a video was shown of Swerve Strickland claiming that he signed an AEW contract extension recently, and with the money, he used it to buy back his family’s home that his mom had to give up in the past. This was posted on AEW’s social media as well as shown on Dynamite early in the show.

While Swerve Strickland was in the ring awaiting Page for the contract signing main event, the man known as Hangman appeared on the video screen. Page entered the house, said some mean things to Swerve into a camera and Page poured gasoline throughout the house. Page would go on to start a fire, which led to Page burning down the house. Swerve was shown in the ring getting emotional about what happened. That’s how Dynamite ended.

There is a long backstory here because Page and Swerve started their feud in late 2023 with Swerve breaking into Page’s house while going into the bedroom of Page’s young child. That made the feud even more personal than it was already.

It was revealed by Fightful Select that Swerve Strickland didn’t buy a new house, yet there were still people within AEW who believed that he did and congratulated him on the purchase when he was at Dynamite.

The story by Fightful added that the angle was planned for several months and many people in AEW didn’t know that it was going to happen. They also noted that the “house that was used saw a very small crew travel to burn it down, and had professional supervision.”

Regarding the fact that Page committed a crime on camera, Fightful reports that “there are storyline reasons planned as to why Hangman Page isn’t in jail or on charges.”

It was also noted that people within AEW were very happy about how the house burning angle was executed, as well as the reactions to it.

AEW Planning To Have Swerve-Hangman Main Event All Out

The AEW All Out PPV takes place this Saturday, September 7th and it has been reported that the Steel Cage Match between Swerve Strickland and “Hangman” Adam Page is going to be the main event of the show even though it’s not a title match.

In addition to that, AEW Owner Tony Khan announced it will be a Lights Out Steel Cage Match as well.
