Breaking: Demolition To Be Inducted Into 2026 WWE Hall Of Fame
The legendary tag team Demolition will be inducted into the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame.
In a video posted by WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker on social media, it was announced that Demolition’s Ax (Bill Eadie) & Smash (Barry Darsow) will be inducted into the 2026 WWE Hall of Fame.
The Undertaker: “I got some news, man. It’s my esteemed honor to welcome you two, Demolition – Ax & Smash – into the 2026 Class of the WWE Hall of Fame.”
Ax: “Oh my God.”
Smash: “Unbelievable.”
Undertaker: “Congratulations, guys.”
Ax: “Well, thank you my friend, I appreciate that. I don’t know what to say to be honest with you.”
Smash: “It’s a huge honor. We’ll be there.”
Undertaker: “Awesome, man. Congratulations, guys. Well deserved.”
Demolition Finally Joins WWE Hall Of Fame
Demolition was a legendary WWE tag team from the late 1980s into the early 1990s that was seen as one of the biggest omissions from the WWE Hall of Fame. Due to lawsuits against the company and other factors, they were kept out of the Hall of Fame for far too long, until now.
During their WWE run from 1987 to 1991, they had a dominant run as a tag team, both as heels and faces. They were 3-time WWE Tag Team Champions who had a 478 day reign as champions, which was a record for decades before it was broken by The New Day and The Usos. Demolition also had a combined Tag Team Title reign of 698 days, which is the longest all-time for the original WWE Tag Team Titles.
When Demolition had their last title reign in 1990, Crush joined the group as a third man since Ax was getting older, and Crush would work plenty of the matches for the group.
Demolition was also managed by the legendary Mr. Fuju during their run.
In a 2025 interview with Wrestling Epicenter, Smash (Barry Darsow) talked about a potential WWE Hall of Fame induction.
“I would love it. But, you never know. There are so many tag teams and singles talents that are out there that they could go with. But, I would love it. I’m hoping that we are on their list.”
Smash would go on to say he wants Crush to be part of it, but The Undertaker’s comments made it seem like it would be Ax & Smash only. Crush, who was portrayed by Brian Adams, passed away in 2007, and will likely be acknowledged during the ceremony.
“All 3! With Crush! Ax, Smash, and Crush, all 3 of us were Demolition. I think Crush deserves it too.”
The trio of Ax, Smash, and Crush all portrayed different characters throughout their careers, with Darsow even having a fun run as The Repo Man, but they will forever be remembered and celebrated as 2026 WWE Hall of Famers, Demolition. Congratulations!
Previously announced for the WWE Hall of Fame in 2026 are Stephanie McMahon and AJ Styles. WWE has yet to announce a date, location, and airdate for the ceremony.
