DDP Says WWE Star Is “Most Underrated Megastar Of All Time”
Diamond Dallas Page thinks one of the biggest WWE superstars is underrated despite being one of the most successful wrestlers ever.
The WWE Hall of Famer Diamond Dallas Page (aka DDP) has always had a special connection to “The Viper” Randy Orton because of their finishing moves.
In the 1990s as the Monday Night Wars were going on, DDP was one of the most popular WCW wrestlers there thanks in part to his Diamond Cutter finishing move. It was a move that DDP used to win multiple titles with and it always excited the fans when he did it.
After retiring as a wrestler in the early 2000s, DDP gave his blessing to Randy Orton to start using the Diamond Cutter although Orton had a different name for it, the RKO. It was a fitting name for Orton since his name is Randy Keith Orton and the “KO” part represents a knockout in combat sports as well. Orton doesn’t do the move in the exact same way that DDP did, but there are obvious similarities to it.
Randy Orton has gone on to have an incredible WWE career over the last 22 years with 14 World Titles to his name, multiple WrestleMania main events and a legacy to be proud of.
Even though Orton is a very successful pro wrestler, DDP told the Drinks with Johnny podcast that he loved Orton while claiming that Orton is underrated.
“I love Randy Orton, and I love the fact that he took it to a different level. He did versions of the s**t that I could never do that he did. I think Randy Orton is, how do I even want to say this, the most underrated mega superstar of all time.”
“Randy is so proven that first of all he looks unbelievable and he’s healthy as hell, and that surgery I guess really worked well for him. I’m a huge mark for him as far as everything. From the look, the size, the talk, the work, the aggressiveness, the intensity.”
“I mean like I say, he’s the most underrated superstar of all time. I mean Randy Orton very well could be on freaking Mount Rushmore.”
Randy Orton Announced For His First-Ever WWE NXT Match
The October 8th edition of WWE NXT will take place in the St. Louis area where the 44-year-old Orton lives. It was announced this past week on NXT TV that Orton will compete on that episode of WWE NXT as well for what will be Orton’s first match on the NXT brand.
Randy Orton’s opponent on that October 8th episode of NXT will be the sensational young talent Je’Von Evans, who is only 20 years old, so it will be an interesting matchup between one of the greatest of all time like Orton against a rising star like Evans. The match will be a big treat for all WWE fans.
