Dave Meltzer’s Forbidden Door Star Ratings

Orange Cassidy WIll Ospreay AEW Forbidden Door

With Forbidden Door in the books for AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling, the usual star ratings have been announced for the show by Dave Meltzer.

The 26th of June 2022 will go down in history as the night AEW and NJPW came together to put on a supershow for the ages inside the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

The 16+ thousand fans in attendance for Forbidden Door were treated to an incredible night of action capped off with Jon Moxley defeating Hiroshi Tanahashi to become Interim AEW World Champion.

A brand new champion was crowned as PAC defeated Clark Connors, Malakai Black, and Miro to become the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Champion. It was an excellent night for an excellent team as FTR defeated United Empire and Roppongi Vice to add the IWGP Tag Team Championship to their collection that currently includes both Ring of Honor and AAA tag team gold.

Will Ospreay held onto his IWGP US Championship by defeating Orange Cassidy, however, the man who still holds the physical title belt, Bullet Club’s Juice Robinson, was watching on.

Dave Meltzer has given his star ratings for the event in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and no match attained the vaunted five-star status but both Ospreay/Cassidy and the opening six-man tag team bout that saw Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevara, and Minoru Suzuki defeat Shota Umino, Wheeler Yuta, and Eddie Kingston both reached four and three-quarter stars.
