Corey Graves Reveals All About Job Outside Of WWE
Corey Graves has opened up about the other job he’s been doing far away from the live cameras of a WWE show.
Corey Graves is part of the current commentary team on WWE RAW alongside veteran broadcaster Michael Cole. After being forced to retire from the ring due to injury issues, Graves has made the successful switch to broadcasting, commentating on NXT, SmackDown, and WWE’s flagship show alongside PLEs.
That doesn’t mean it’s always been smooth sailing for Graves. He infamously hit out at the company following a brief demotion back to NXT, due to Pat McAfee taking his spot on the main roster announce team.
Corey Graves Swaps WWE For University Lectures
Now, Graves is looking at life outside of the wrestling bubble as he has taken up a role with Point Park University, teaching a class called live sports production to broadcast students.
In a new video shared by the university, Corey Graves, under his real name of Matt Polinsky, explained more about his academic role:
I am teaching a class about live sports production with a heavy focus on storytelling throughout a broadcast. I joined WWE as a wrestler, but since then, I’ve transitioned to a commentator, and I’ve been the lead, I’ve been the color analyst, I’ve worn many hats in WWE.
Above all, I focus on storytelling. That’s the main focus of my job. I believe the opportunity to tell stories across sports can really enhance the viewing experience to anybody. It’s really important for me that my classroom is very collaborative. I don’t wanna stand in front of a room full of people and just preach at them. I want to know what they want to know. I want to know what I know that I can pass on to them. I really think that the more we collaborate and learn from one another, the better everybody is.
