Controversial Ex-WWE Star Doesn’t Rule Out AEW Move
A controversial WWE star has addressed the possibility of joining AEW five years after their release.
Eva Marie initially joined the Stamford-based company in 2013. Although she had no wrestling background, she immediately joined the cast of Total Divas.
The All Red Everything’s four-year run in WWE was controversial, as fans continued to chant “You can’t wrestle” at her. She even made a surprising decision, requesting her return to NXT between 2015 and 2016.
Although the 41-year-old was released in 2017, she returned three years later for a brief run before the company let her go again in 2021.
Would The Former WWE Star Join AEW?
Eva Marie recently sat down with Chris Van Vliet to discuss her career inside and outside the ring. She was asked whether she would be open to joining AEW.
While the former Total Divas star pointed out that it would be hard after wrestling in WWE, which she dubbed the best company in the world, Eva Marie did not rule out joining Tony Khan’s promotion.
“I mean, I thought about it for a second. I would never say never, for sure,” she said. “But it’s difficult when you’ve wrestled for the best company in the world. In my eyes, just from the whole production level, there’s no one better. That’s why they’re number one.” [H/T: Ringside News]
