Controversial Ex-WWE Champion Open To Return
This former champion is contemplating his return to WWE.
Former WWE star Mr Kennedy (real name: Ken Anderson) has long stated that he wouldn’t return to the company after his exit.
The Mr Kennedy character was loud, confident, and charismatic. He performed on WWE TV during its Ruthless Aggression Era in the mid-2000s.
Despite having talent in spades, Anderson was never able to rise above the mid-card level in the Stamford-based promotion due to injuries and backstage politics.
Anderson is a former United States Champion, but saw more success in TNA, the promotion he worked at between 2010. and 2016. Here, he won the TNA World Championship and TNA Television Championship. He has also worked in the independent circuit.
He would return to TNA last year to team with Steve Maclin and secure a victory over Frankie Kazarian and Jake Something (now Jake Doyle in AEW).
Ken Anderson Speaks About A Possible WWE Return
In an interview with Sportshadow, Anderson was asked if he would be interested in a return to WWE.
Anderson, who has been open about the company’s backstage politics on various podcasts, said there was a time he never wanted to return to WWE. But today, with the personnel having changed and the company’s more corporate atmosphere, he would definitely consider it.
I would definitely be open for a WWE return. I think enough time has passed. There was a time when I was in TNA that I felt, from the bottom of my heart, I would never work for that company again
I didn’t want to run that schedule or deal with that stress of constantly looking over my shoulder.
However, I think things are different there now. It is very corporate. I know that if I go back there, at least at the beginning, it’s going to be a numbers thing. I don’t have delusions of grandeur; it is just a very corporate company now.
