CM Punk has revealed how he really feels about WWE making WrestleMania a two-night event and what it means for supposed main events.

In wrestling, it’s very rare that something said doesn’t come back to bite you in the backside somewhere down the line. Many a hypocrite has been made over the years in the business, and many fans were quick to point out the obvious when CM Punk headlined his first WrestleMania in 2025.

During his ill-fated stint in AEW, Punk famously derided MJF for apparently flirting with WWE and took a shot at the company for making its biggest show of the year a multi-day event:

If you think the grass is so much greener on the other side… go ahead, leave, main event night four of a buy-one-get-one-free extravaganza…

That quote came up a lot when CM Punk headlined night one of a two-night event.

CM Punk Walks Back WrestleMania Criticism

Now, in an interview with No-Contest Wrestling, CM Punk noted that he does not differentiate the two nights of WrestleMania and doesn’t feel a hierarchy between them, although he did point out, perhaps unsurprisingly, that his feelings might change if he ever got to headline night two of the event:

Night one, night two—the argument… I currently don’t feel any more pressure to perform on night two than I did night one. Maybe that’ll change. I think if it does, it’ll be incremental. I don’t differentiate between the two.

Addressing the promo comments directed at MJF, Punk pointed out that a promo isn’t real life:

People will argue that I once said in a promo—which doesn’t make it real life, ladies and gentlemen… They’re the easiest ones to work. And they’re the ones that fold their arms and go, ‘I’m not worked. You can’t work me.’ I got you right here.
