CM Punk’s WWE WrestleMania 40 Role Confirmed

CM Punk

CM Punk will be in Philadelphia for WrestleMania 40 and it seems he’ll have an up close and personal view of one huge match.

CM Punk shocked the world when he returned to WWE at Survivor Series and as soon as he set foot back in the company he seemed destined to clash with Seth Rollins. Rollins vs. Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship was the presumed plan for WrestleMania 40 but CM Punk suffered a serious injury at the Royal Rumble that will keep him out of action for months.

Instead, Drew McIntyre was able to make the most of the opportunity, winning the men’s Elimination Chamber to claim the title shot against Rollins as he looks to have the WrestleMania moment he feels he deserves.

CM Punk Set For WrestleMania 40

On Raw in Chicago, CM Punk returned to the show in his hometown and he had strong words for quite a few stars on the WWE roster. However, before he could get much further he was interrupted by Drew McIntyre who had a message of his own for Punk.

After a heated exchange which saw McIntyre sit cross-legged on the announce table rather than get in the ring with Punk, the Scottish star invited Punk to be the special guest commentator for his match with Rollins at WrestleMania 40.

Seth Rollins then came out and told Punk it would be ironic if he was on commentary as he’d get to narrate one of the finest moments of Rollins’ career. CM Punk confirmed he would be at the announce desk for the match, promising to make it interesting for both men saying that was something both men failed to do during his ten-year hiatus from WWE.
