CM Punk “Has Time On [His] Hands For The Next 2 Months”

CM Punk speaks publicly for the first time since his firing by AEW.

CM Punk’s turbulent time in AEW came to an end on the 2nd of September when Tony Khan’s company announced that Punk had been fired “for cause with immediate effect.” Punk had been involved in a physical altercation with Jack Perry at All In following Perry’s match and comment about using real glass to camera.

That was, of course, not Punk’s first backstage fight in the company after getting physical with The Elite after All Out 2022 after Punk laid bare his frustrations with many in AEW at the post-show press conference.

With Punk no longer All Elite, there has been rampant speculation over what his wrestling future holds and if it could involve a return to WWE.

CM Punk could be busy in two months

CM Punk was back on announcing duties for the Cage Fury Fighting Championships – which airs on UFC Fight Pass – and a couple of shots were taken at the recent news. Most interestingly Punk noted when talking about staying to do a post-fight show that he had “some time on my hands for the next two months probably.”

Many were quick to point out that in roughly two months’ time, WWE will present Survivor Series from Chicago on November 25th. Should Punk return to his former employer, and if any non-compete clause allowed, then it would make sense for him to show up in his hometown since he did not get that opportunity at All Out.
