CM Punk Makes Surprising Admission About Facing Roman Reigns At WWE WrestleMania

CM Punk is glad Roman Reigns chose to face him at WWE WrestleMania 42 for a surprising reason.

The Second City Saint defeated Jey Uso at Saturday Night’s Main Event last November to capture the World Heavyweight Champion. Last month, Roman Reigns returned to the ring to win the Men’s Royal Rumble to earn a world title shot at WrestleMania 42.

The Original Tribal Chief later confronted CM Punk on Monday Night RAW, informing him that he had already made his decision to challenge him at The Show of Shows.

CM Punk Pleased He Doesn’t Have To Care About WWE Elimination Chamber

In a recent interview with TalkSport, CM Punk admitted that he was glad Roman Reigns chose to fight him at WrestleMania because he would not have to worry about the winner of Elimination Chamber.

The Second City Saint admitted that being a champion comes with a lot of responsibility. Meanwhile, he pointed out that he is currently focused on his Elimination Chamber opponent, Finn Balor.

I’ve just appreciated that he picked me so I don’t have to pay any attention to the Elimination Chamber and I don’t got to worry about who’s in that and who’s winning that. It’s champ problems.

You know, like heading into Mania, being the champion is a lot of responsibility. I feel like it’s great, but it also to me kind of almost takes the target off my back. I don’t have to be in the Rumble. I don’t have to go through hell in the Chamber. So I’m doing my best to rest and recover all the little nagging things I got going on.

I’m sure I’ll see Roman at Mania, but I got Finn first at Elimination Chamber. And I don’t take anybody lightly. And Finn is going to find out in my hometown why they love me so much. [H/T: Ringside News]
