CM Punk Delivered “One Of The Best Segments In A Long Time” According To WWE Veteran

CM Punk

A veteran in the wrestling business believes that CM Punk deserves a lot of credit for a recent WWE Raw segment.

The wheels are in motion for former WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee to return to WWE after more than a decade away from the company.

Like her husband, CM Punk, when AJ Lee left WWE, she stayed far away and rarely talked about the company because it was time for her to move on, and she did other things.

CM Punk has had a never-ending rivalry with the World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, which has now involved Seth’s wife, the Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch. At WWE Clash in Paris, Lynch low-blowed Punk to allow Rollins to beat Punk and retain his title.

On the WWE Raw episode that followed in Paris, CM Punk called out Seth Rollins, but was met in the ring by Becky Lynch instead. The verbal altercation that Punk had with Lynch also led to Lynch slapping Punk repeatedly, but Punk didn’t hit her back, which is noble behavior for a man. That also set the wheels in motion for the obvious return of AJ Lee.

Many people praised the Punk-Lynch segment for how authentic it came off, and former WWE manager Dutch Mantel also praised it on his Story Time with Dutch Mantell podcast.

“This is one of the best segments I have seen in a long, long time, and the reason being, and this is what Jerry Jarrett [passed on].

This is one of the first things I learned about what things get over with people, how to be a booker, because if you’re listening to this argument between CM Punk, who is over like a son of a gun, and Becky Lynch, because this tit-for-tat, or argument, or quarrel, or disagreement sounded real.”

CM Punk’s Promo With Becky Lynch “Didn’t Sound Like It Was Rehearsed”

A complaint that some people have about the current WWE product is that, at times, it may seem overproduced. Dutch went on to say that it didn’t feel like Punk and Lynch’s segment was like that.

“It didn’t sound like it was produced. It didn’t sound like it was rehearsed because, hey, CM Punk is very good on interviews. He is great, and she was too, so when they went back and forth, they left it at the perfect spot with you thinking, ‘Okay, where’s this going?’ Because I wanna see where it’s going now.”

CM Punk is advertised for WWE SmackDown in Chicago on September 5th, which is where he lives with his wife, AJ Lee. It is very possible that AJ will appear with him as well.
