Chris Jericho Taps Out AEW Star In Japan

Chris Jericho during his entrance at AEW All In

Being no stranger to Japan, Chris Jericho has notched up another victory in the country after forcing a fellow AEW star to submit.

There’s been an ongoing rivalry in recent weeks involving Chris Jericho and the Don Callis family. Callis has been adding plenty of new stars to his ranks, with one of the first being Konosuke Takeshita. Since then he’s also aligned himself with the likes of Aussie Open’s Kyle Fletcher, and Powerhouse Hobbs.

This spilled over to DDT in Japan, where Jericho made a shock appearance at Who’s Gonna Top to attack Takeshita after his victory over Mao. A contest between the two was then set for Ultimate Party.

Chris Jericho looked to end things early in the contest, but Konosuke Takeshita managed to avoid the Judas Elbow early on. Although it was a back-and-forth match, eventually it was the former AEW World Champion who picked up the victory when he forced Takeshita to submit to the Walls Of Jericho.

Street Fight Up Next In AEW For Chris Jericho And The Callis Family

Whilst this victory for Jericho no doubt marks a blow for the Callis Family, there will soon be a chance for revenge. On the 15th November 2023 edition of AEW Dynamite, a huge eight-man street fight will take place. For this Jericho has recently aligned himself with Kenny Omega and Kota Ibushi, as well as shockingly bringing out The Big Show for a return to the ring.

Don Callis has been forced to replace Sammy Guevara in the street fight, getting help from Prince Nana in the form of ‘The Machine’ Brian Cage. Cage will be joined by Takeshita, Fletcher and Hobbs for the match.
