Cain Velasquez Admits Putting Together Match With Brock Lesnar Was “A Little Uncomfortable”
Cain Velasquez has admitted that whilst Brock Lesnar was professional in putting their 2019 match together, it made him a little uncomfortable.
In a rematch from their 2010 UFC contest, Cain Velasquez and ‘The Beast Incarnate’ swapped the octagon for the squared circle when they faced off at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia for the WWE Championship.
The match was a short affair, with Lesnar making Velasquez submit to the kimura in a little over two minutes.
In a discussion with Konnan and Disco Inferno on K100, Cain Velasquez admitted that the process of putting that match together made him feel uncomfortable, however he knows for next time.
Yeah, professional and I would say it was a little uncomfortable [planning the match with Brock Lesnar]. I’m just so new to the wrestling world but everyone that I’ve worked with has been amazing as far as, you take care of everybody. We really do try to put in some good things in there where everyone gets what they want out of it and making it just for the fans. Working with Brock was interesting man, that’s all I’m gonna say. It was very different. You kind of just learn from your life and okay, this is what this was. I know for next time if something else ever happens for next time but… [Velasquez laughed]
With Brock, that’s kind of what it was and again, the best thing about what I do now with wrestling is I can bring my family in and they’re true fans of it, you know? And that is the best.
It has been a tumultous year for Cain Velasquez, who was arrested on an attempted murder charge. However, there were reports last month that he could be set for an in-ring return.
