Bully Ray Trashes GCW & Nick Gage

Bully Ray WWE

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray has launched a searing attack against GCW and its top star, Nick Gage.

Over the past few years, GCW has built a reputation for being one of the most successful modern independent promotions in the United States. Through names like Joey Janela, Nick Gage, and even Matt Cardona, GCW has become known for its hardcore style.

This style has earned it comparisons to an extreme promotion that operated out of Philadelphia, PA in the 1990s, ECW. It was in that company that Bully Ray first made a name for himself.

However, the WWE Hall of Famer is not keen on people comparing the two promotions. During an appearance on NBC Sports Boston, he accused GCW of riding the coattails of ECW and having “no backbone”.

“Oh my God, please. Please! Awful … You had the CZW garbage bag wrestlers; you have the GCW garbage bag wrestlers all trying to ride the coattails or capture some of the glory of what ECW created back in the day.

“Your company will never be ECW; your wrestlers will never be ECW wrestlers. Please, stop. Do something different. And here’s the thing, these companies like GCW, they have no backbone because they stay away from the guys they know can truly expose them.”

Bully Ray then turned his attention to former GCW Champion Nick Gage, questioning why he wasn’t in the Bunkhouse Battle Royal at Ric Flair’s Last Match which Bully Ray came close to winning before losing to another GCW star, Mance Warner.

“Nick Gage had the balls to show up at Starrcast with all the GCW guys? Mind you, I eliminated every single one of them. Yeah, Mance Warner got the best of me at the end of the day; good job, Mance, but I eliminated every GCW guy.

“You saw Nick Gage come to the battle royal. You see Nick Gage get in the Battle Royal with me? Why not? Because he’s a pu**y. If Nick Gage truly wanted a piece of me, he would have been in the ring.”

Since Bully Ray made these comments, many have speculated that he is playing a part and will make an appearance in GCW in the near future. However, it is currently unknown if this is the case.
