“Damage Control” Storyline Pitched For Brock Lesnar After WWE Return
This WWE veteran has a pitch for how the company can justify Brock Lesnar’s recent return.
Brock Lesnar was working part-time for WWE and has only appeared in a few matches since last year. He was involved in the Survivor Series: War Games match in November last year and was a part of the Royal Rumble match in January. It was during the Royal Rumble Match that he came face-to-face with the newly promoted Oba Femi from NXT.
Soon after the Rumble, in the build-up to WrestleMania 42, Brock Lesnar issued an open Challenge. Oba Femi answered it, and the two feuded weekly, with Femi getting the upper hand on almost all occasions.
The Ruler eventually squashed the Beast Incarnate in under five minutes at the Show of Shows. But the surprising part came after the match when Lesnar left his gloves and boots in the ring, signalling a sudden and shocking retirement.
Brock Lesnar was to retire sometime this year, but fans were confused why he didn’t have a proper send-off match, which was rumoured to happen at SummerSlam later this year.
Things took an about-turn as Lesnar shockingly returned last week on Raw to land 4 F-5s on Femi. Later, a rematch between them at ‘Clash in Italy’ was made official.
With Brock’s retirement saga continuing, former WWE star Stevie Richards had a few ideas for WWE about how they can book his retirement.
Former WWE Star Stevie Richards Suggests Scenario Of Brock Lesnar Losing To Gunther At SummerSlam
Gunther has made a name for himself as the Career Killer in WWE after retiring John Cena, Goldberg, and AJ Styles in under a year.
Stevie Richards said on the Stevie Richards show that if he were to lose to Oba Femi again, then the best way to go out for Lesnar would be at SummerSlam to Gunther. Richards says it’s the only way WWE can do some damage control with Brock Lesnar’s recent return, which has confused fans.
Say he loses to Oba Femi again, Brock doubts himself and says, “I should have stayed retired. I should
have stayed retired. I don’t know if I haven’t anymore. There’s only one way I can find out if I’m still up to the level to perform in this company as a main event talent or even somebody on the roster. I have to put the ultimate stakes up.The first time I made the decision, this time I need to have a retirement match at SummerSlam if I lose. So basically, if I lose, I’m forced to retire. My back is against the wall. There’s only one person that I need to go up against to whether I can move on past SummerSlam or ultimately not retire, but be retired, forcibly be retired, and that person is Gunther.
That’s the only way you do damage control. (7:50 onwards)
