Tonight’s edition of AEW Dynamite was schedueled to have two major main events for the night, with the first of them being for the AEW Women’s World Championship.

The title is currently held by the Toxic Spider, Thekla, and she has already proven to be a fighting champion, having had a total of three title defenses in less than a month of winning the belt.

She only defended her title in a brutal 2 out of 3 falls match at Revolution and put the championship on the line tonight as well, as she took on Mina Shirakawa for the belt.

Thekla retains her AEW Women’s World Championship tonight

Both women wrestled a brutal match tonight with Mina Shirakawa unleashing her more brutal side ever since Toni Storm was mysteriously attacked last week on Dynamite.

She pushed the champion to her limit and it seemed like she would come away as the champion tonight. However, Thekla managed to retain her title under controversial circumstances.

She went to hit Mina with a leather belt, but it was taken away by the referee. With the official distracted, Thekla took out the brass knuckles she had been hiding. As Mina lifter her for a back suplex, she knocked her out cold with the brass knuckles to her face. The referee never saw the knucks as Thekla retained the AEW Wome’s World Title.
