Breaking: Cody Rhodes Passes Out On WWE SmackDown; Next Challenger Possibly Revealed
Friday Night SmackDown tonight was kicked off by the Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes, who delivered a positive update on his injury status following WrestleMania 42.
He announced that he had been cleared to compete by the medical team, but before he could make any further comments, he was interrupted by former NXT Champion, Ricky Saints.
Saints came out to the ring and challenged Cody Rhodes to a match on his first night on the blue brand as he looked to make an impression on the main roster.
Gunther shows up on WWE SmackDown tonight
Saints and Rhodes wrestled an entertaining match for the Tulsa crowed which saw them both dominate at various times but it ultimately ended in Cody’s favor after he reversed a Roshambo attempt into the Cross Rhodes.
However, immediately after picking up the win, Cody Rhodes was jumped from behind by Gunther, who choked him out with a Sleeper Hold. He put the champion into the hold a couple of times as he made his presence known on the blue brand.
It seems like the Ring General will be calling SmackDown his home now as he posed with the Undisputed WWE Championship after taking out Cody Rhodes, hinting that he might be the American Nightmare’s next challenger.
