BREAKING: Major Bloodline Members Officially Depart WWE
WWE’s internal talent release continues one week after the first batch of wrestlers exited.
On April 24, 20+ wrestlers, including the likes of Kairi Sane, Aleister Black, Zelina Vega, Motor City Machine Guns, and the entire Wyatt Sicks faction, were let go from the company.
According to a report by Bodyslam and Fightful, Tonga Loa and JC Mateo are the newly released wrestlers. Both Tonga and JC were part of the MFT faction, spearheaded by Solo Sikoa.
JC Mateo made his debut at last year’s Backlash PLE in May, where he helped Jacob Fatu retain his United States Championship against LA Knight, Drew McIntyre, and Damian Priest in a four-way bout.
On the other hand, Tonga Loa had multiple stints with the Stamford promotion, the first materializing between 2009 and 2014.
He then competed in promotions like Total Nonstop Action, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre before returning to WWE in 2024.
Tonga Loa was a one-time tag team champion with Tama Tonga in 2024 before a torn bicep kept him out of action for 7-8 months. He returned at the 2025 Night of Champions, assisting Solo Sikoa in retaining his US title against Jacob Fatu.

While Mateo did not officially hold any title, he defended the tag team titles with Tama Tonga under the freebird rule, replacing Sikoa, on the March 20 episode of SmackDown.
Unfortunately, the MFTs lost their titles to the newly formed tag team of R-Truth and Damian Priest.

Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods Leave WWE, Too
In addition to the two MFT members, The New Day’s original members, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, decided to mutually part ways with WWE as well.
Kingston’s journey concludes after two decades, having signed with the promotion in 2006. The 44-year-old is a one-time singles major champion, a four-time Intercontinental Champion, and a 3-time United States Champion.
He also won the tag team titles 15 times across the Raw and SmackDown brands.
Kofi was involved in a storyline with Je’Von Evans, hoping to convince the Young OG to join their faction. Fans, meanwhile, had noticed Woods’ absence across multiple weeks.
Xavier Woods is also a 12-time tag team champion on the main roster. His departure ends his 16-year run with the company, which began in 2010.
