Becky Lynch On How She’d “Love To Go Again” With WWE Hall Of Famer

Former Women’s Champion Becky Lynch doesn’t feel that one match with a specific WWE Hall Of Famer wasn’t enough, and would love to run it back.

Elimination Chamber 2022, and Becky Lynch had the chance to step in the ring with Lita with the Raw Women’s Championship on the line. The contest was a landmark moment, as it marked the first time Lita had competed in singles action since 2006. The match earned plenty of plaudits, in particular for Lita having so much time away then being capable of keeping up with someone who is considered as one of the best of the modern era.

In a discussion on Ryan Satin’s ‘Out of Character’ podcast, Becky Lynch gave some of the reasons why the match meant so much to her.

She was my hero, and she’s somebody who always championed for me when I was nobody when I was the underdog. I think maybe she saw a little bit of herself in me, and to be able to work with her and tell a story that wasn’t the typical, oh you’re a has been! Because she’s not obviously, you could see her go. She’s awesome.

‘The Man’ went on to discuss the match, and how she was convinced by her counterpart to do a move she had never done before.

I think we had a good match and to be able to be in there with her and to push myself by the way to, for the first time in my life, do a moonsault…it was very scary for me. I always say it I’m not an athlete; I’m somebody who works very hard at this craft, and she pushed me towards doing that and supported me and believed in me like she has my entire career.

On the subject of whether she’d like to go up against Lita again, the answer was a resounding yes.

If Lita ever wants to come back again. I would love to go again because she’s amazing. And to tell the story of this is my idol whose comeback and now you’re trying to take my title away from me.

Becky Lynch also spoke recently of how she has to give Triple H credit for her character shift, despite now being sidelined through injury.
