Backstage Reaction To Triple H Becoming Head Of Creative

Triple H

A new report has given a glimpse into the reaction backstage and within the USA Network to the news that Triple H is now head of WWE’s creative department.

On July 25th it was announced that Triple H is WWE’s new head of creative. The confirmation arrives after it was revealed on July 22nd that he will be resuming his former role as Head of Talent Relations.

The reshuffle was set in motion when Vince McMahon announced that he was retiring from his position as WWE CEO and Chairman of the Board.

It has been confirmed that Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan are now co-Chief Executive Officers. Ms. McMahon has also been appointed Chairwoman of the Board, and Mr. Khan will continue to serve as a member of the Board.

Meanwhile a new report from Fightful Select has offered an insight backstage within WWE following the latest developments. The report states that on Friday, Bruce Prichard and Ed Koskey were largely in control of the direction of the show (SmackDown) and producers were told that Triple H would at least be the “finish guy.”

WWE confirmed to Fightful that Prichard remains with the company and is still involved with creative. Last week, higher-ups were told that Vince McMahon is still available to some degree as he transitions away from the company.

The reaction from talent to the announcement was said to be one of “general excitement.” There had been some concerns when Prichard was heading talent relations on an interim basis while also being head of creative, as it left talent asking the person in charge of their creative if they could have time off.

A source at the USA Network, home of Monday Night Raw, said that the news is an “exciting change.”
