Attitude Era WWE Star Makes Heartbreaking Revelation About Cancer Battle
A former WWE star has opened up about the recent cancer battle that left him facing serious surgery.
Former WWE Tag Team Champion Mosh, who wrestled as part of the Headbangers in the company, has detailed his recent cancer battle. Mosh first wrestled for WWE in 1993, but it was in late 1996 when he appeared with his partner, Thrasher, that his career really took off.
They stayed together for four years in WWE before Mosh became Chaz and formed the ill-fated LoDown partnership with D-Lo Brown. The Headbangers briefly reprised their roles in WWE in 2016 before leaving the company, seemingly for good.
Ex-WWE Star Faced With Thyroid Cancer Fight
Speaking on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, Mosh detailed the biggest fight of his life as he’s been battling cancer:
The ultrasound doc, goes, ‘I’m 100% sure.’ And I’m laying on the table with them looking, I’m looking at the screen up here of all this stuff, and I’m like, I’m right here. I go, ‘What are you 100% sure of?’ and he looks down his plane. He goes, ‘You have thyroid cancer that spread to your lymph nodes.’ And I went, ‘Okay, so you guys have been telling me all along there’s nothing to worry about, so now I need to worry a little bit.
I went in July 31, like, I said, lymph node where thyroid came out, 122 lymph nodes. And I didn’t know this, like, I didn’t realize you had that many. You have, like, 800 lymph nodes in your body. 300 of them are in your neck. So I lost a third of them on this side.
Mosh had been wrestling up until his diagnosis, with his last match, alongside Thrasher, coming in June 2025 on an AIW show in Ohio.
