Asuka Achieves Impressive First On WWE Raw

Asuka has broken new ground yet again in WWE with The Empress of Tomorrow achieving an impressive first with her victory on Raw.

On Monday Night Raw Alexa Bliss and Asuka resumed hostilities with the Damage CTRL pairing of Dakota Kai and IYO SKY as they clashed for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship.

Damage CTRL had captured the title when they defeated Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah for the gold back in September but in Dallas, Texas on Raw, their reign came crashing to a halt. Alexa Bliss and Asuka picked up the huge win meaning both women are now three-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions but there is something even more special about the Japanese star’s reign.

Asuka now becomes the first woman to hold the title with three different tag team partners. She first won the championship with Kairi Sane back at Hell In A Cell in 2019 and she then re-captured the gold with Charlotte Flair at TLC in December 2020.

Bliss has held the title three times but with just two different partners as her first two reigns were with Nikki Cross. Cross herself is a three-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion but her reigns came with Bliss and Rhea Ripley. The only other woman to hold the title three times is Sasha Banks with her first two reigns with Bayley as her partner and her third with Naomi – Banks and Naomi infamously surrendered their championship when they walked out of WWE in May 2022.
