Another Huge Announcement On WWE Legend John Cena’s Future

John Cena is set for a blockbuster appearance during WWE WrestleMania 42 week.

The Cenation Leader recently shocked the wrestling world by announcing that he will be returning to WWE as the host of The Show of Shows this year. For those unaware, Cena retired from in-ring competition following his match against Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13, 2025.

Now, Fanatics Events has revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that John Cena will be appearing on The Undertaker’s Six Feet Under podcast at WWE World on April 18.

Scrapped John Cena WWE plans revealed

During a recent conversation with Chris Van Vliet, Drew McIntyre stated that there were plans for him to face John Cena during his retirement tour at Crown Jewel in Australia. However, Cena ended up facing AJ Styles at the event because “something changed.”

Crap happens. Sometimes you go down one path, it doesn’t work, and you’ve got to go back on the path and deal with the fallout from it. I can be personally upset, or I can be like, ‘Alright, there would have been a tag match here.’

There was another match prior to that involving more than I was supposed to give away all the details, like John out there. But yeah, there was a plan for something else, and then something changed, and then we had another pitch, and we ended up with the AJ match.

So it wasn’t public, myself and John. I would have liked to see what me and John could have done and still get the AJ match.

It will be interesting to see if The Cenation Leader and McIntyre come face-to-face at WWE WrestleMania 42.
