AJ Styles’ Wrestling Career May Not Be Over After WWE Retirement
AJ Styles’ last WWE match was against Gunther at the Royal Rumble 2026.
He had announced that he would retire in 2026, but the fact that it would be the Royal Rumble 2026 on January 31st was something that no one had considered.
When the stipulation set was that if Styles lost, his career would be over, the WWE Universe strongly believed that it meant The Phenomenal One would defeat Gunther. When The Ring General defeated him, everyone was speechless in utter disbelief.
AJ Styles might not be done with the industry
The entire debate surrounding his retirement has centered on whether The Phenomenal One has retired from WWE only or from pro wrestling altogether. Previous reports stated that AJ Styles could possibly be done altogether. However, new reports by WrestleVotes on Fightful Select indicate that The Phenomenal One might not be completely done.
AJ Styles is done as an active wrestler, but might not be done completely.
