AJ Lee Shocks WWE RAW, Costs Champion Their Title

Former WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee made a shocking return to the company in September this year. The 38-year-old returned to team up with her husband, CM Punk, against Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins at Wrestlepalooza.

However, she had been missing from WWE television since winning her return match at the PLE, but made a surprising return to the red brand at Madison Square Garden tonight.

The fans erupted as soon as AJ’s theme song hit in the middle of Becky Lynch’s defense of her Women’s Intercontinental Championship against Maxxine Dupri.

AJ Lee helps crown new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Champion

Becky Lynch had been embroiled in a rivalry with the Alpha Academy member for weeks now. Dupri had earned a count-out win over Becky a few weeks prior and that helped her earn a shot at the Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

Becky and Maxxine were at it against one another on tonight’s edition of WWE RAW, with both wrestlers gaining the upper hand at certain points during the match. However, AJ’s mere presence was enough to throw Becky off her game.

AJ Lee distracted Lynch just when she was about to expose one of the turnebuckles, allowing Maxxine to hit Becky with a crossbody from the top rope to win her first ever title in professional wrestling.
