AJ Lee Endorses Ex-AEW Star To Join WWE
AJ Lee sat out of wrestling for 10 years, but she may have followed a few special talents.
Lee returned to WWE in September 2025 and competed in her first wrestling match in over a decade at Wrestlepalooza.
Teaming up with her husband, CM Punk, she made Becky Lynch tap out in a mixed tag match, where the latter partnered up with her husband, Seth Rollins.
Ever since, the 38-year-old has been breathing down Lynch’s neck, constantly putting her in challenging situations.
Their feud ultimately culminated in a Women’s Intercontinental Championship match at the Elimination Chamber PLE on Saturday in Chicago, Illinois.
While Lee found herself backed into the corner for most of the fight, she managed to mount a comeback. At one point in the match, referee Jessika Carr got taken out.
Lynch, meanwhile, exposed a top turnbuckle, only to fall victim to it as she ran face-first into it during an offensive move over her opponent.
AJ Lee, in turn, put her in her Black Widow submission to make Lynch tap out, thus winning the IC Champion for the first time.
AJ Lee Wants Ex-AEW Star In WWE
AJ Lee recently appeared for an interview on the minnieportable podcast, where she praised a former AEW talent, Jazmine Allure, hoping she joins the Stamford promotion in the near future.
During the interview, Lee spoke about the current state of the women’s division as she recalled the triple threat match between Stephanie Vaquer, Nikki Bella, and Raquel Rodriguez, which took place on Raw late last December.
I also think that I didn’t get to say that triple threat killed it. It was so good. What really struck me about that was, it wasn’t just like, ‘Oh, these are just three Latinos. Literally, each of them is championship material. You would be proud for any of them to be your champion. We’re at that level now where we don’t just have some representation, we have best of the best representation.
She even referenced Jazmine Allure, who currently competes in the independent circuit.
There are girls on the indies, too. I’ve got to give a shoutout to Jazmin Allure. That is my girl. I think that she really deserves to be here. I’d love to see her. [H/T: Fightful]
