AJ Lee Confirms Personal Beef With Top WWE Star

AJ Lee has admitted to having personal issues with a top WWE star.

The former Divas Champion came out of retirement to help her husband, CM Punk, in his feud with Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch. Her comeback came after The Man shockingly put her hands on The Second City Saint.

The two couples clashed at Wrestlepalooza in a mixed tag team match that ended in victory for Punk and Lee. The latter also forced The Man to tap out in the Women’s WarGames match at Survivor Series, securing the win for her team.

The Black Widow will now challenge Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship tonight at Elimination Chamber in Chicago. The match will mark Lee’s return to singles action for the first time in almost 11 years.

Why Does AJ Lee Continue To Target Becky Lynch?

Ahead of tonight’s premium live event, AJ Lee sat down with Michael Cole for an exclusive interview, in which she was asked why she continues to target Becky Lynch.

The Black Widow admitted that her feud with The Man was personal, claiming that she wants to beat her face in.

AJ Lee: I feel like Becky chose me. She went after my husband. And I feel like she kinda knew there was a chance that could maybe get me out of retirement, if anyone. But I gotta say, like, if it had been almost anyone else, I don’t know if I would’ve wanted to take that challenge. It’s the fact that Becky is, she’s this Mount Everest to me. I think, you know, she’ll say it too. She’s on of the best that there is right now. And I wanna prove that I can exist and dominate in two different generations.

Michael Cole: You mentioned the comments about your husband, the World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk. So, this has become personal between you and Becky?

AJ Lee: Yeah, I mean, I could have just done Wrestlepalooza and, you know, went home. But to see her being that bully that I fought really hard to get rid of. I think we all go through those hardships coming up in this business and you either keep perpetuating that and you make them feel whatever pain you went through or you wanna make it better for them.

And I’ve always wanted to make it better, and I feel that it’s become a really beautiful place and it’s cool to see that evolution. But, then you still have people like Becky, who have become this big headed Becky. There’s just something about her that I wanna beat her face in. [1:18 onwards]
