Two Title Matches Added To AEW Dynasty PPV

An AEW World Title match has been announced for the Dynasty PPV after a huge match took place on Dynamite.

In the main event of AEW Dynamite in Quebec City, there was a number one contender’s match where the winner would receive an All Elite Wrestling World Championship match against Samoa Joe. That match saw Swerve Strickland and Konosuke Takeshita put on a tremendous showing that ended with Swerve getting the big win.

For Swerve Strickland, it will be his second straight PPV where he receives and AEW World Title match. At AEW Revolution in March, Swerve Strickland was part of a triple threat match with Samoa Joe & “Hangman” Adam Page. Joe ended up beating Page to retain his title while Swerve has remained in the title hunt.

This time when Swerve Strickland challenges for the AEW World Title at the Dynasty PPV on April 21st, he’ll get a singles match with Samoa Joe.

There was another contender’s match on Dynamite featuring the women’s division. Willow Nightingale won a four-way match over Anna Jay, Skye Blue and Kris Statlander. Thanks to that victory, Nightingale will challenge Julia Hart for the TBS Title at the Dynasty PPV.

Unfortunately for Willow, TBS Champion Julia Hart was there after the match to knock down Willow with a cheap shot to the back. Mercedes Mone, who was on commentary for the match, had a brief staredown with Hart.

What Other Matches Will Take Place At AEW Dynamite?

The first-ever AEW Dynasty PPV takes place on Sunday, April 21st in St. Louis. Three title matches are official at this point, but we don’t know who is the Tag Team Title match yet.

One match that will get a lot of attention at Dynasty will be the first-ever Bryan Danielson/Will Ospreay match between two men considered by many people to be among the best wrestlers in the world. According to Danielson himself, his matchup with Ospreay won’t headline Dynasty even though it’s a main event level match.
