AEW Star To Be ROH’s New Authority Figure

Tony Khan AEW

The Firm’s loss might well be Ring of Honor’s gain as AEW star Stokely Hathaway looks set to have power at his fingertips in Tony Khan’s other promotion.

Stokely Hathaway set tongues wagging after he posted a cryptic video online of him in Tony Khan’s office as he replaced Khan’s possessions with his own, leading many to believe the star could be setting himself up for a General Manager role in AEW.

However, Fightful Select has reported that Hathaway had been pushing for a new role in the company and that could have come to fruition at the latest Ring of Honor tapings where he was introduced as one of the “Board of Directors” for the brand.

Hathaway will be the heel authority figure for ROH while former Ring of Honor World Champion Jerry Lynn will act as the babyface decision maker. In reality, Tony Khan will still be booking the promotion in addition to his duties as boss of AEW.

The report also notes that the new role has caused uncertainty over Hathaway’s role in AEW as The Firm was set to meet its end in The Firm Deletion match won by Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, and HOOK on the 5th of May edition of Rampage.
