One of the stars of AEW has joined the injured list.

On the April 20th edition of Rampage, Yuka Sakazaki took on Emi Sakura in a rematch of their 2021 Women’s World Title Eliminator Tournament bout. During the match, Sakazaki tried a Springboard attack but fell to the outside. When the star got back up, she was noticeably limping and favoured her leg for the rest of the match. Although she won the match, it has now been reported that Sakazaki’s injury is legitimate.

Writing on F4WOnline, Dave Meltzer noted that the exact injury is currently unclear, but that it did change the match.

“Yuka Sakazaki’s leg injury in her bout last night in Peoria, IL with Emi Sakura was legit. As of this morning, the exact injury and its ramifications weren’t clear. She gutted her way through the match but the injury did change things.”

Bryan Danielson In Injury Scare At AEW Dynasty

At AEW Dynasty, Bryan Danielson caused concern in his match with Will Ospreay. During the bout Ospreay hit the Storm Driver ’91 on Danielson. After the move, the referee called medics to the ring to check on The American Dragon. Ospreay then hit the Hidden Blade for the victory before Danielson was checked on again.

Following the show, Ospreay said he was retiring the Storm Driver due to Danielson getting hurt because of it. However, it is now widely believed that the concern over the star is likely part of a storyline rather than a legitimate injury.
