AEW Star Believed To Have Serious Injury; Major Title Match In Doubt

Swerve Strickland Adam Page AEW

Adam Page is set to challenge for the AEW World Title at Revolution but following Dynamite it seems that he could be forced to miss that show.

Samoa Joe will defend the AEW World Title at Revolution in a massive three way match. Hangman Adam Page and Swerve Strickland were the two top contenders for that title but a one-on-one match between them to find a challenger ended in a time-limit draw.

As a result, Tony Khan named them both the number one contender and revealed the three way match at Revolution. But now following Dynamite in Tulsa, OK that match is in serious doubt.

Page teamed with Rob Van Dam and HOOK to face Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland, and Brian Cage on the show, and following a spill to the outside it looks like things may have ended disastrously for Page.

Will Adam Page Miss AEW Title Match?

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that he was told the belief was Adam Page had broken his ankle which would throw his involvement at Revolution into serious doubt, and noted AEW will have to address the situation very soon:

They’ll have to say something. It would be on Saturday’s show one way or the other if they don’t announce something even sooner. But I think that on Saturday’s show, they’re gonna have to address it if they think that he can’t go.

Just the nature of what happened. You know, the preliminary thing, I mean, I heard from someone who was at ringside and said, when he was on the ground right in front of him – he was basically saying, he thought his ankle was broken. So, hopefully not.

Sometimes a broken ankle does heal, I don’t want to say relatively quick, but it’s not like a six month thing. The nature of the break if it’s clean…Guys have done sh*t with broken ankles. I mean, it’s not gonna happen here if it’s truly broken. But guys have worked on broken ankles. You know, believe it or not.

Well, wrestlers have worked on everything. We had worked on broken necks, you know, I mean, it’s just like, especially in the old days, I mean, when, when you didn’t have when you didn’t have guaranteed money. Wrestlers did stuff because they couldn’t afford not to work.

Adam Cole suffered a badly broken ankle that has kept him out of action for several months now. Despite that Cole is leading the villainous Undisputed Kingdom from his wheelchair while he continues to recover.
