AEW Star “Had No Idea” About TV Return

One competitor set to return to AEW soon seemingly wasn’t clued in that it was about to happen!

The announcement of AEW Collision on TNT had been expected for some time, and was officially confirmed on 17th May 2023. The show will debut in June and will take place on Saturday evenings, whilst also replacing Dark and Dark: Elevation in the company’s schedule.

There had been plenty of speculation that the announcement would coincide with the return of CM Punk, with the former AEW World Champion seemingly set to be the flagship star on Collision. This would have also fitted in with the hard roster split between Wednesdays and Saturdays which had been reported.

However, it would seem Punk was pulled from the announcement, with talk he is now once again at odds with AEW. He has also hit out at fans and journalists on social media, hinting that his return could be moving further and further away.

Instead, the Collision announcement included the likes of Thunder Rosa, Andrade El Idolo, Miro and FTR.

It would appear that Andrade in particular wasn’t aware that he was going to be included in the announcement, as he took to social media to briefly explain.

El Idolo has not competed in AEW since All Out 2022 and had his own backstage troubles in the company when he was sent home following a physical altercation with Sammy Guevara.

Collision will air live starting 17th June, from 8 pm – 10 pm ET on TNT.
