AEW Star Facing Second Surgery

One of the stars of AEW expects to undergo surgery for a second time next week.

On December 16th, CJ Perry revealed she had been taken to the emergency room after contracting an MRSA infection in her finger that progressed through her arm. The star underwent surgery soon after.

The former Lana returned to AEW TV later in the month and accompanied her client, Andrade El Idolo, to the ring as he faced her husband, Miro, at Worlds End. In the end, CJ Perry turned on Andrade and helped Miro to victory.

Unfortunately, Perry has now revealed that she has had to return to hospital as the first surgery wasn’t enough to deal with her infection. The star shared the news on social media, saying she is likely to have a second surgery next week. Despite this, she says it was worth returning to TV to give El Idolo a proper send off from AEW.

“Karma is purring in my lap …. But worth it to make sure [Andrade El Idolo] was sent off properly at #AEWWorldsEnd @aew. Second surgery next week. Draining MRSA daily.

“Flesh and scabs cut out of my finger again today. Antibiotics again. Possible full-blown second surgery next week but I would risk it all again for my ex-clients, future clients, and current clients.”

When Did Andrade El Idolo Leave AEW?

During the Worlds End media scrum, Tony Khan confirmed that Andrade El Idolo had wrestled his last match in AEW at the event as his contract was up at the end of 2023. The two parties are said to have parted amicably after Khan was unable to reach a deal with the star.

Despite El Idolo leaving the company, Khan praised the start and said he was glad to see him leaving on a high note.
