AEW Changed Original Plans For Stadium Stampede Match At All In

The Blackpool Combat Club was planned for AEW All In’s Stadium Stampede match, but the match changed due to other factors.

One of the big matches set to take place this Sunday, August 27th at All In will be the Stadium Stampede Match. This past Wednesday on Dynamite, the company finalized the match by making it a 5-on-5 bout featuring two stars that just returned to television this week.

The Blackpool Combat Club’s Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli & Wheeler Yuta will team up with the returning Santana & Ortiz against Eddie Kingston, Penta El Zero Miedo and The Best Friends trio of Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta.

It’s been a complicated road to get to the match because it was originally announced as a 6-on-6 Stadium Stampede, but then things changed when AEW had to pull Rey Fenix due to travel restrictions. That led to Wheeler Yuta and the BCC “injuring” Fenix on Dynamite by hitting him in the head with a crowbar.

AEW Had a Different Idea For the Stadium Stampede Match

Apparently, the absence of Rey Fenix wasn’t the only change to the match because AEW was hoping to have a triple threat Stadium Stampede match instead.

It was reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio that the triple threat match for Stadium Stampede would have had representatives from the Blackpool Combat Club against Death Triangle (Pac, Fenix & Penta) and against AEW International Champion Orange Cassidy & Best Friends.

Those plans changed because Pac suffered an injury recently and Fenix had the travel issues that took him out of the match as well.
