AEW Refused To Offer Deal For WWE-Bound Star

Tony Khan AEW

One of Japan’s biggest stars is believed to be WWE-bound in 2024 but it seems Giulia wasn’t even offered a deal by AEW.

Giulia has been one of STARDOM’s biggest names of the past few years and the star is currently the NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion. The Italian-Japanese star recently put that title on the line on US soil at NJPW Battle In The Valley where she defeated Trish Adora and it seems US audiences are going to be seeing a whole lot more of her in 2024.

Giulia is believed to be heading to WWE when her deal with STARDOM expires in March but many had wondered if she’d head to AEW but it appears that was never an option.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer explained that Giulia wasn’t offered a deal by AEW leaving her to go to WWE:

Giulia never got an offer from AEW, at least as of a couple of weeks ago, like two weeks ago. For whatever reason, they didn’t go after her. I don’t know why.

AEW Snap Up Other Free Agents

Tony Khan has opened the checkbook to sign several free agents in recent months with Will Ospreay signing his AEW deal at Full Gear before finishing up his NJPW commitments.

Former TNA Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo has also signed with the company, making her debut on a recent Collision where she defeated Red Velvet. Deonna Purrazzo hit out at body-shaming trolls online after reading horrendous comments made about her.
