AEW News: Blood & Guts Match Announced – Inner Circle vs. The Elite on March 25 on AEW Dynamite

TJR Wrestling

The first-ever AEW “Blood & Guts” match was announced during AEW’s Revolution PPV eight days ago and now we know who will be in the match. The match is going to place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey at the Prudential Center on March 25th on the AEW Dynamite TV show on TNT in American, TSN2 in Canada and elsewhere all over the world.

As a reminder, the Blood & Guts match will feature two rings side by side along with a giant cage covering the two rings.

It’s a match that will see the Inner Circle’s five-man group of Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Santana and Ortiz facing off against The Elite group consisting of Cody, The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson), Kenny Omega and “Hangman” Adam Page. Omega and Page are the current AEW Tag Team Champions. Omega is dealing with a hand injury, but he should be fine in one to two weeks.

We don’t know the rules yet. It might be similar to NWA/WCW War Games matches (or even the WWE version), but that won’t be known until next Wednesday on Dynamite when AEW lets us know what the rules are.

The “Blood & Guts” name comes from Vince McMahon saying that term on a WWE conference call back in July. They really like his conference calls, apparently.

TJR Thoughts: It’s a big night for AEW and will probably lead to their biggest audience ever for Dynamite, if I had to guess. I think it might be the night where Page turns on his Elite buddies, but Page is so popular as a face that it may be foolish to turn him heel. It should be a great match.
