AEW News: AEW Revolution Sting/Allin vs. Cage/Starks Street Fight Already Taped, Full Revolution PPV Lineup for Tonight

It’s a big night for AEW wrestling. Their first PPV of the year is called Revolution and it takes place tonight with a start time of 8pm ET for the main show. To watch the show, you have to order it on pay-per-view and there are a number of options to do that. Check out AEW’s website right here for details on how to order.

One of the matches airing during Revolution was taped earlier. We don’t know if it was last night or when it was taped. That hasn’t reported yet. The match we’re talking about is the Street Fight with Sting and Darby Allin facing Brian Cage and Ricky Starks. Here’s more on that story from Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso, who tweeted about it.

Sting tweeted early this morning about the match.

TJR Thoughts: It’s a smart move to tape the match to make sure everything goes okay. Plus, the main event is the Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch with Kenny Omega defending the AEW World Title against Jon Moxley. It’s likely going to take several minutes to set up the ring for that kind of match. Because the Street Fight was taped, it will give the ring crew time to set up the Deathmatch. At least that’s why I assume they taped it.

The negative thing about taping the match is that they will have about 1200 fans at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville tonight and many of them likely wanted to see Sting’s match live. Now they won’t get that chance. I’m assuming most of them figured they would get it live when they bought the tickets. With that said, there’s still likely going to be over three hours of live content on the show. I don’t expect the fans to be that angry about it.

The Revolution lineup looks like this:

AEW Revolution Card:

  • Kenny Omega (c) (with Don Callis) vs. Jon Moxley – Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch for the AEW World Championship

  • The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) (c) vs. The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho and MJF) – Tag Team Match for AEW Tag Team Championship

I’ll be back later tonight with coverage of Revolution. I’m not sure if I’m going to do a live review of the whole show or just do a results post first, then write a detailed review after. If I don’t write the live review tonight then the detailed review will go up on TJRWrestling on Monday morning.
