AEW May Have A New EVP Very Soon!
AEW was founded back in 2019 when co-founder Tony Khan joined forces with independent wrestling stars of the time, like Kenny Omega, The Young Bucks, and Cody Rhodes, to start the promotion, who all went on to become the EVPs.
In the years since its inception, the company has grown to become one of the biggest wrestling promotions in the world, and the four EVPs played a huge role in that.
Since Cody Rhodes’ departure, only Omega and The Bucks hold the position of EVPs amongst active members of the roster, but it seems like the promotion might be getting a new one soon enough.
Swerve Strickland makes a huge challenge on AEW Dynamite
Kenny Omega is arguably the biggest name on the roster, but he hasn’t had a pleasant time of late on the show. He’s faced some hiccups in his hunt to become AEW World Champion once again, with former champion Swerve Strickland being the biggest of them all.
Swerve recently turned heel by unleashing a brutal attack on Omega a few weeks back. The Cleaner made a comeback at Revolution and chased Strickland away from attacking Brody King. He then challenged Swerve to another one-on-one match.

Omega challenged Swerve to a singles match tonight, with the winner going on to become the number one contender for the AEW World Championship. However, Swerve wasn’t interested in just that and asked Kenny to put his EVP title on the line as well.
Shortly after Swerve’s challenge, a match between the two was made official, with the winner becoming the new number one contender for MJF’s title and the new EVP of the promotion.
