This former AEW World Champion is still not cleared to compete, leading to a change in the match card

Ahead of January 3rd’s episode of Collision, Tony Khan posted a video on his X/Twitter account making some announcements. He started by revealing that a match he was excited about, Shelton Benjamin of The Hurt Syndicate and Scorpio Sky of Sky Flight, needed to be cancelled because the latter is yet to be cleared to compete following an injury.

The exact details of the injury are still undisclosed, but Sky has not been medically cleared by the doctors to compete, according to Khan’s statement.

The Jacksonville-based promotion’s CEO went on to say that Sky’s tag team partner and Sky Flight stable-mate Dante Martin willingly took the opportunity and will face Shelton Benjamin in the Collision match in Sky’s place.

AEW’s Scorpio Sky Had A Minor Injury In November

In a November episode of Dynamite, Scorpio Sky suffered a tweak to his elbow in a trios match, but it was initially deemed not serious.

Sky was last seen competing in the independent promotion Ring of Honor’s ROH TV in early December 2025.

Sky had missed AEW programming for a long time before his in-ring return in May 2025, where he answered “The Best Wrestler Alive” Max Caster’s five-minute open challenge.
