An AEW legend and WWE Hall of Famer admitted that he doesn’t care if he won’t get a retirement tour like John Cena. The legend in question is Adam Copeland (fka Edge).

Adam Copeland has been a part of the pro wrestling industry since the 1990s. He joined the WWE in 1997 and went on to become one of the biggest stars in the promotion’s history as ‘Edge,’ and has also been inducted into the Hall of Fame for his achievements. In 2023, The Rated “R” Superstar shockingly departed the Stamford-based promotion and jumped ship to AEW some time later.

During his tenure in AEW, which is still ongoing, Adam Copeland had some memorable matches and moments. He is currently tag teaming with Christian Cage, and many fans believe that this could be the last year of Copeland’s in-ring career. Many fans have also suggested a retirement tour for the Rated “R” Superstar, similar to John Cena last year, before he hangs up his boots. However, Copeland is not interested in the same.

Speaking with ClutchPoints, Adam Copeland said he already had his send-off, recalling how he was forced to retire due to injury in 2011 before returning after years. Copeland also stated that it will be his choice to retire this time:

I already had my sendoff. This time, it’ll be my choice, and that makes it a different experience entirely.”

The erstwhile Edge further said he doesn’t care if he will have a big send-off like John Cena and has no idea what it will be:

I don’t care if I get this big, tearful sendoff. I have no preconceived idea of what it needs to be.” [H/T Ringside News]

John Cena gave AEW legend the opportunity to win his first WWE Championship

Back in 2006, the AEW legend, Adam Copeland (fka Edge) was the first man to cash in Money in the Bank contract to capture the WWE Championship from John Cena. Speaking with SI Takedown, Cena disclosed that he pushed for Copeland to beat him for the title when everyone told him not to do that:

Adam and I went through a very similar trajectory. People thought Adam Copeland would be nothing more than a tag team wrestler. And I was the one fortunate enough to give him a chance to earn his first WWE Championship. And the day that was supposed to happen, everyone, except for the main creative force, said I shouldn’t do it, that I should storm into whatever room I need to and say I shouldn’t do it,” Cena revealed.

Cena also recalled that he went through a similar struggle to Edge, so he wanted to give him a chance.
