AEW Grand Slam Australia was scheduled to host four title matches on the show, which saw the AEW World Championship, the TNT Championship, the Women’s Tag Team Championship, and the Continental Championship being defended.

However, a couple of matches didn’t have a title on the line, but they had equally high stakes attached to their matches. Hangman Page defeated Andrade El Idolo to become the number one contender for the World Championship.

The other non-title match saw Toni Storm and Orange Cassidy take on Marina Shafir and Wheeler Yuta in a Mixed Tornado Tag Match, with the loser of the fall stipulated to shave their head.

The Death Riders duo attacked Cassidy and Storm before they made their way to the ring. The two teams brawled through the crowd before Yuta seemingly took Toni out of the match with a Piledriver on the equipment box.

The match began with Shafir and Yuta dominating Cassidy before Storm made a triumphant return to the match. The four wrestlers then pushed each other to their limit with brutal attacks after the other.

The match came to an end as Cassidy took Shafir out with a suicide dive before Toni Storm attacked him with a German Suplex and a hip attack. That was followed up with an Orange punch from Cassidy and a Storm Zero from Toni, which earned the win for her team.
